Analyzing the Underground Dog Fence

One thing that people who buy pets when they are babies find out the hard way, is that they have to restrain the access such pets will have to certain parts of the house. However, after the surprise has passed, pet owners find that restraining their pets to a certain are is not only affordable, but also quite practical. Constructing a traditional chain or wooden fence wouldn’t only prove to be a pricey option but would also tarnish the beauty of the yard’s landscape. One good option available is an underground dog fence. These fences create an invisible barrier that your pet won’t be able to cross.

How an underground dog fence Works

Underground dog fences always come with a transmitter and/or receiver kit, boundary wires and training flags. Pet owners can preset the boundary area with the help of the transmitter and flags and test the unit before putting it to work. The receiver collar worn on the dog’s neck prevents him from crossing the boundary set by the owner. Af first, if the dog comes close to the boundaries, a sound will warn it that it should go back. If the dog still contines and tries to cross the barrier, then a small harmless electric pulse is delievered through the collar.

Some degree of training with the dog is needed to get it used to the underground dog fence and how it operates. Every underground dog fence comes with a manual and a DVD that will explain the owner how to best use the device and get the dog used to it. Do not skip the training offered by the video, as it’s crucial in understanding how to make the dog learn the limits to which it can go.

These systems are more affordable than what most people think, and they are quite easy to install too. The underground dog fence system is very expandable, as you can increase or the area for your animals, reduce or increase the intensity of the punishment, and even include extra dogs.

Underground dog fences are a great option if used properly and dogs are trained. Dogs won’t be able to escape anymore, however, violent dogs can come to them, so pay attention to the possibility of that scenario as well.
